Full Time

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for:

-         Efficient and timely preparation of accurate, high-quality electrical engineering designs and technical drawings using the relevant software, including CAD and Revit (BIM), for specific large scale, complex building and infrastructure design projects as directed by the Lead Electrical Engineer

-         Carrying out all electrical analysis and designs in conformance with all required local and international design codes, design standards and codes of practice as directed by the Lead Electrical Engineer

-         Coordination with internal drafting resources, and other resources required for completion of all drawings, specifications and bills of quantities

-         Strong working knowledge of all required Saudi Arabia electrical engineering codes / standards, design and construction practices, and drawing practices for large scale, complex building and infrastructure design projects

Critical outcomes of this role include; managing the production of accurate, timely and high-quality Revit (3D) and AutoCAD (2D) drawings for complex projects, and technical coordination of these designs and models/drawings with all other required design disciplines such as architectural, structures and mechanical engineering and quantity surveying.

The role requires the building and maintaining professional relationships with internal stakeholders, other consultants, contractors, including coordinating with other Design Engineers, Lead Electrical Engineer, Design Director, and design Project Managers to assist with submitting overall project deliverables for concept, schematic, and detailed design stage submissions in line with planned project timelines.

Job Duties

For specific allocated projects, in coordination with the Lead Electrical Engineer, manage, plan and carry out;

• Complex electrical engineering analysis, design, modelling / CAD drawings, specifications and bills of quantities using appropriate analysis and design and modelling / drafting software, to the required quality, project timeline, and design man-hour budget,
• Obtain all data and follow up with project managers, Lead Electrical Engineer, other company staff, other consultants and contractors so that analysis, design and production of drawings, specifications and bills of quantities are completed in an accurate, timely manner, to the required quality,
• Establish and build professional relationships with other staff, other Consultants, contractors.
• Understand the project brief, and deliverables
• Assist Lead Electrical Engineer, other Engineering Designers with the preparation and implementation of the Project electrical engineering designs in coordination with the assigned project team,
• Participate in and contribute to value engineering exercises,
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and teams within ECEC and with 3^rd parties in relation to technical, financial, safety, quality, schedule and other elements of a project, so that accurate electrical designs and electrical engineering drawings, specifications and bills of quantities are produced.

Specifically, the Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for:

1. Implementing and updating specific and overall project electrical engineering designs, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities for multiple complex design projects and construction projects.
2. Assists the Lead Electrical Engineer on matters that cross between interfacing elements, projects.
3. Work proactively, constructively, and fairly with all parties to ensure the successful execution of duties,
4. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as directed, and as may be appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering,
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (licensed to practice electrical engineering design in Saudi Arabia), or equivalent in Egypt
• Specific training & qualifications in CAD, Revit (BIM), electrical engineering analysis and design including use of specific software

Specific Skills Required

• Strong level of competence in use of Revit, AutoCAD and other drafting software - preferred,
• Excellent working knowledge of internationally accepted electrical engineering, design industry principles and practices / safety / quality systems,
• Excellent knowledge of current electrical engineering technology,
• Able to work with minimal supervision,
• Excellent problem solving, numeracy and English literacy skills,
• Clear verbal and written communication skills,
• Use of diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties,
• Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project,

Experience

• Minimum 10 to 15 years of related work experience in a relevant engineering drafting background, and previous experience on Saudi projects, designing, and drafting using Revit and AutoCAD,
• Extensive design and drafting experience on large scale, complex building and infrastructure design projects is required.
