Job Summary

The BIM Coordinator performs model coordination for building design projects utilizing Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and Navis Works software for the relevant Architecture and Engineering disciplines. It is the BIM Coordinator responsibility to coordinate these models with the other design disciplines for design projects. 

The BIM models produced must be of high quality and technically accurate with minimal clashes with other design disciplines and must be completed on time and within budget / allocated man-hours. The BIM Coordinator must coordinate their BIM models and drawings with the other design disciplines by attending regular internal workshops and by performing clash detection operations, including use of Navis Works.

The BIM Coordinator are based in ECEC’s Egypt office, and are required for Architecture, Structure, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. 

Job Duties

• Manage and coordinate the creation, modification, and distribution of BIM models and data,
• Monitoring the performance and quality review of BIM Models and ensuring they satisfy the project specific-BIM Requirements and ECEC standards.
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control with respect to Technical Design Review
• Developing and implementing interoperability workflows.
• Carry out clash detection and resolution by identifying and resolving conflicts in BIM models,
• Facilitate collaboration and communication between different project stakeholders, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and owners,
• Performing and delegating model maintenance.
• Ensuring suitability of information for issue to the Common Data Environment (CDE)
• Train and supporting the project team members in the effective use of BIM software and tools,
• Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in BIM technology and best practices,
• Assist with development and implementation of BIM-related workflows and processes,
• Assist with preparation and coordination of BIM-related documentation, such as BIM project execution plans, BIM standards, and model delivery requirements,
• Participate in project meetings and providing BIM-related updates and recommendations to project teams,
• Work closely with assigned architecture, structure, MEP Engineers on Revit, AutoCAD, and Drawing Status reporting,
• Prepare and present Revit models, AutoCAD drawings for issue to clients, consultants, and contractors as required.
• Monitoring and reviewing progress of BIM deliverables against deadlines.
• Timely delivery of accurate, high quality BIM models and drawings.
• Data Management

o    Manage and organize files, ensuring proper version control and file naming conventions,

o    Create and maintain a comprehensive database of drawings and design files.

• Quality Assurance

o    Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards,

• Documentation

o    Prepare and maintain project documentation, including record drawings and as-built documentation,

o    Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations as needed.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or similar.
• Certified professional user of Autodesk Revit or similar.

Specific Skills Required

• Good working knowledge of the Construction & Design industry.
• Exhibit drive, attitude, and enthusiasm.
• High level of computer literacy including a proficient user of Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, BIM Document and Project Management, Design Collaboration, Model Coordination, MS Office- Word, Power Point, Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Clear verbal communication skills by way of training sessions.
• Be self-motivated in attaining position objectives and in seeking new responsibilities and challenges.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of related work experience working for design consultants and previous Middle East design experience is required.
• Experience in design of Mixed use Residential, Retail, Commercial & Leisure projects would also be beneficial. Previous Experience in Healthcare & Defense projects is preferred but not essential.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in using BIM/Revit on design projects.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the same/similar type of role.
