Senior Interior Designer - Marakez
Job Description
- Manage and work on projects starting from the concept design to executing detailed drawings.
- Work with the development team to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed.
- Understand complex design problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions.
- Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs.
- Use computer-aided design applications to prepare and illustrate technical drawings.
- Monitor the performance of the Design Consultant(s) to ensure the Design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
- Maintain a record of the Design Consultant(s) submittals, and correspondences received from the Design Consultant(s).
- Review the designs against project requirements and ensure that the Design Consultant(s) has considered the end user’s requirements as stated in the statement of requirement.
- Review and coordinate technical drawings with other disciplines.
- Review and approve all shop drawings.
- Provide technical & administrative information to the others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
- Document project issues and conditions.
- Check the quality of the work executed in accordance with the shop drawings.
- Communicate projects’ progress and problems/risks/concerns.
- Track changes to the design and construction work and adjusting budget protections accordingly.
- Evaluate and endorse variation orders/concession request submitted by the Design Consultant(s) for approval.
- Oversee the installation of materials, furniture, and other design elements.
- Maintain current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- BS/MA degree in Architectural Engineering.
- 8-10 years of experience in Interior Design.
- Natural leadership ability and strong management skills.
- Confidence in leading all aspects of the design process as a Project Leader.
- Strong communication with an eye for detail.
- Ability to share the proper vision and a strong grasp of design constructability.
- Previous experience in design of residential, commercials, retail and hospitality projects.
- Proficient use of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop.
- Excellent English both spoken and written.
- Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate nicely and professionally with our team.
